As the visionary founder of Persis Film Company, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, he spearheads a wide range of projects, specializing in film/series production, post-production, visual effects, and motion design.
Early Beginnings and Inspiration
Xarovan’s love for filmmaking began at a young age, sparked by a pivotal moment when he witnessed his father using a super-8 splicer to edit family movies. The sound of the film splicer and the joy of joining film strips with tape left an indelible mark on Xarovan, igniting a lifelong passion for the craft. He knew from that moment that he wanted to pursue filmmaking as his life’s work.
The Road to Success: From Intern to Editor
Xarovan’s journey in the film industry started as an intern at a relative’s film production company. This opportunity allowed him to gain valuable experience and establish a foundation in the business. With his creative flair and technical skills, Xarovan quickly rose through the ranks, editing over 500 episodes of documentaries and television shows for various companies in Tehran.
Dubai: A Playground for Creativity
Seeking new challenges and opportunities, Xarovan made his way to Dubai. His talent and expertise as a motion designer propelled him to the position of producer and creative director at GEM TV. During his time in Dubai, Xarovan left an indelible mark, working on numerous projects for TV channels across Australia, the United Kingdom, UAE, Germany, Kenya, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Iran. Notably, he contributed to the branding and broadcast design of 17 TV channels, showcasing his versatility and creative vision.
Humanitarian Efforts
Furthermore, Xarovan’s unwavering dedication to making a positive impact extends to his humanitarian endeavors. In 2011, amidst the devastating Somali drought and civil conflicts, he embarked on a voluntary mission to the Horn of Africa.
Xarovan’s pursuit of capturing the harsh reality at the Dadaab Refugee Camp near the borders of Kenya and Somalia went far beyond his exceptional filmmaking skills. Collaborating closely with esteemed organizations such as UNHCR, Kenya Red Cross, and Charity Acts, where he volunteered his time and efforts.
The profound collaboration between Xarovan and Charity Acts was important in obtaining significant donations that effectively provided food for 6000 children over a six-month period. It also resulted in the installation of four vital water tanks along the dangerous road that connects Mogadishu and Dadaab Camp.
This treacherous seven-day journey undertaken by people seeking refuge from Mogadishu had tragically claimed numerous lives due to dehydration.
His relentless efforts not only shed light on their struggles but also inspired compassion within others who were moved by his powerful storytelling. Through this profound act of empathy combined with strategic collaboration with organizations dedicated to humanitarian causes like Charity Acts, Xarovan effectively brought about positive change that impacted countless lives.
An Istanbul Adventure: Head of Post-Production
In 2016, Xarovan embarked on a new chapter in Istanbul, Turkey. He was appointed as the head of post-production and supervising producer for TV shows and movies. Xarovan’s reputation as a trusted administrator and his expertise in film and digital art earned him recognition and respect during his tenure at GEM TV, where he worked under the late founder, Saeed Karimian.
Founding Persis Film Company
Building upon his extensive experience and artistic vision, Xarovan took a leap of faith and founded Persis Film Company in Istanbul in 2018. The company focuses on film and series production, post-production, visual effects, and motion design. Xarovan’s passion for storytelling and his commitment to producing high-quality content are at the core of Persis Film Company’s mission.
